What To Expect

Consultation

Initial visits consist of a comprehensive consultation during which Dr. Wendy will gather a complete medical and psychiatric history, including information about other providers with which the patient is currently working. The visit will usually conclude with a plan for medication—if needed—that both Dr. Wendy and the patient are comfortable with before the patient leaves the office.

Monthly Monitoring

In most cases, patients are seen once a month to assess the efficacy of the medication and make any necessary adjustments, while they continue to meet with their regular psychotherapists.

Ongoing Support

Once Dr. Wendy determines that a patient has reached stability on the medication, she will transition the patient to quarterly and then twice-yearly visits.

In addition to medical management, Dr. Wendy also provides:

General Consultations – for a second opinion or a new look at a patient’s treatment regimen.

Genetic Testing – targeted pharmacogenomic (drug-gene) testing to help determine which medications may be best suited for a patient.

Mental Health Support for College Students – counseling and medication management for a college-aged child while he or she is away from home; coordination of care with local providers in or around the university.

Telepsychiatry – psychiatric assessment and care through the video chat, Facetime or web conferencing.
